Jean-Philippe Salvadori: biografía

Animation film has always fascinated me. My love for animation cinema has find a playground from my discovery of the animation film festival of Baillargues nearby Montpellier (also called Animasud, Festival de cinéma d’animation de Baillargues). After graduating in film history and literature at the Paul Valéry University in Montpellier, I devoted myself to audiovisual communication and education.
Between 2001 and 2005, I worked as the communication manager of the Wissembourg Animated Film Festival (RICA), the second-largest animation film festival in France. I was especially involved in the pedagogic projects (Movies in School - École et cinema) of the Film Society of Wissembourg and co-ordinated the publishing of pedagogic books (approximately 12 books a year).

In 2002, I founded Révélations hongroises, a non-profit society that aims to reveal the specificity and diversity of Hungarian animated films and to promote young Hungarian authors of animation throughout Europe.
The association is very involved in educational action in the scope of film language, visual arts and animation film and proposes workshops, lectures, exhibitions…
Between 2005 and 2008, I was the assistant-director on Andrea Kiss’ film The Mouse with the Mouth (Le Mulot menteur) and was also involved in the production process of the film with Révélations hongroises.

Besides my activities with Révélations hongroises, I collaborate with many of festivals (making of programs, selection committee, jury…) and I spend a great deal of time with experimental film-making, photography, printing (silkscreen…), writing. In 2003, I published a collection of poems La Mémoire des écailles.
I am currently preparing a new project of animation film with Andrea Kiss and my second book of poetry.
